... as facilitator

In my facilitation work, I support groups in working efficiently and serenely through complex, sometimes conflictual issues.

At its core, facilitation is about gathering trustworthy information on how people relate to one another and to the ideas being shared. My role is to clarify these dynamics, ensuring that all participants feel respected and psychologically comfortable, even in the face of uncertainty or conflict.

I design processes based on strong systemic and design thinking frameworks that have stood the test of time, believing that method should shape and guide the process. Yet I am not rigid—when the dynamics of a conversation call for it, I adapt and improvise. Through thirty years of experience, I have learned to move fluidly between a ‘soft’ stance—open, aware, and receptive—and a ‘hard’ stance—focused on sorting and structuring information.

Since COVID, much of facilitation has shifted to online platforms. I see their value and use them effectively, combining digital tools such as visual whiteboards, polling apps, and AI support to enhance interaction. For shorter workshops, this works well. But for longer sessions, I prefer in-person settings, where participants can fully engage—not just in structured discussions but also in the informal moments that deepen connection and the sheer pleasure of working together.

"Philippe's extreme abilitiy to get the group focused on the issue and capture the group's discussion in a single flip-chart. A true facilitator."
- Ulf Boman, Kairos Future

"Philippe is a unique advisor in the design and facilitation of international workshops and meetings. Work with him makes the traditional client-supplier boundaries irrelevant, as he brings sparking, involved leadership to tackle difficult issues. Any engagement with him is thoroughly thought out. He is meticulous, but can also improvise in the face of last-minute change. Working with him is constructive and will never feel like 'work.'"
